MEET ANNE TAYLOR

FINE ARTIST | FILM WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER | HISTORY LOVER | TRAVEL ENTHUSIAST

HI, I’M ANNE

I guess you could say my start as an artist (and photographer) wasn’t a surprise. My father was a professional wedding photographer in his own right and I was exposed to dark rooms early on. I was also a wedding stationer for four years, both as an illustrator and calligrapher, before I realized my true vocation(s) were tapping me on the shoulder for some time: fine art and wedding photography. It was then that my world snapped into focus (quite literally) and since then, I haven’t looked back.

My love of history, traveling, and observing people are where I derive most of my inspiration from. I’ve trotted around the majority of Europe and leave fulfilled every time, scanning for flights as soon as I board the return plane home. In sweet home Chicago, I’m running around snapping photos through its many neighborhoods and drawing figures at our Art Institute, sketchbook and pencils in hand.

When I'm not pursuing my life’s work, I am hanging out with my husband and our fur babies or reading Brontë or Austen in a café, likely drinking a hot cup of tea.

MY VERY BRONTE WEDDING. SPRING-ISH 2023.
PARIS, FRANCE. AUTUMN 2023.
WRIGLEY. WINTER 2023.

My husband and I were friends for five years before we became a couple. I said yes to him in 2021, next to a monument in the West Loop, Chicago. We were finally wedded in 2023 in 1830s/40s garb.

I enjoy spending this life with him next to our rescue doodles, cat, and guinea pig. We share our love of history and reading together.

What’s your love story?
